Jill Roberts in 'Scream 4' was the perfect villain with the perfect motive. Her reasons for justifying killing people (Including her own mother) was that she wanted to be famous. She delivered my favourite line of all time, "I don't need friends, I need fans." which has stuck with me ever since I watched that movie for the first time in Year 7, mesmerised. Even though she is a considered a villain, I still think of her worthy of being a Final Girl... Is that wrong? Jill playing the victim and getting away with murder would have been a complete game changer because watching movies with the same ending, the killer getting caught, is tiring and I think Jill being able to get away with murder would have been an interesting ending, especially when Jill had so much potential. Call it wishful thinking, but I still believe that there is a chance that she isn't completely dead, and can possibly be brought back for 'Scream 5' which has been confirmed to be in works.
Going back to the OG 'Scream' to talk about Stu Macher, Billy Loomis' best friend and partner in crime. Even though this blog post is technically about Final GIRLS, I feel that Stu is an exception. His only motive was peer pressure, he was just being a good friend to Billy. He cried down the phone to Sidney saying "My mom and dad are going to kill me!" after she told him that she had called the police on him and Billy. I really wanted him to survive purely because I would have loved to have seen how his parents would have reacted to him being a murderer.
I will be an Elisha Cuthbert fan until the day I die, thanks to her starring in what is quite possibly one of my favourite movies of all time, 'The Girl Next Door', however Paris Hilton's character, Paige Edwards, being the final girl in 'House Of Wax' would have been iconic. As an advocate for all things Paris Hilton, you can only imagine how horrifying it was for me to see her with a metal pipe through her forehead. Paige defied all of the Final Girl tropes, and nobody would have expected to see her outlive everyone else in the movie when her character was ditzy and blonde. That being said, I do love the 'See Paris DIE!' marketing that the film used, I think it was genius, and if anyone was going to outlive Paige, I'm glad it was Carly.
